what is telehealth?
No physiotherapist is New Zealand is legally allowed to treat clients in their clinics or face to face during this time. However, ACC has a provision called Telehealth which is an audio/visual alternative which KCP conducts via Zoom which, for those who haven’t used it, is similar to Facetime, Skype and Facebook video calls. Prior to covid-19, some of our physiotherapists were providing this service to distant clients and it has now been made available to all.
The service is extremely professional and valuable. The physiotherapist is able to diagnose through targeted questioning and assessment and can provide advice on what you can do at home to deal with a new injury, provide a treatment plan along with exercises and self management techniques.
Physiotherapists can still send you for scans and xrays an make other referrals.
what happens when i book a telehealth appointment?

If it’s a new injury, you’ll be emailed the Patient Information and Consent form to complete and send back – it’s also in the following Useful Links section below
You’ll be emailed a link for your Zoom appointment – we recommend setting this up approximately 10 minutes before your appointment, especially if it’s your first time using it
